Sesow in Barcelona, 2009

For ten days in May of 2009, Matt Sesow lived and painted in Barcelona Spain. He created over 40 paintings and exhibited over 60 at the Galeria Artevistas. Below is a sampling of the paintings created and some pictures from the opening.

The solo show, “Sesow in Barcelona, 2009” was Matt Sesow’s first solo show in Europe.

(© The award winning, Washington, DC based artist brings his emotionally charged work to Artevistas. Characterzed by blinding, dazzling, frenetic lies of primary colors that Violently thrash like cannonballs onto the canvas, each work is very telling. As a child, a landing plane struck ‘Sesow. His arm was severed by a propeller and later am- putated by doctors. A selftaught artist, this unique trau ‘ma made him paint in a way that causes discomfort as Well as inspites people to challenge themselves beyond the normal compass of their responses. Extremely ac- cessible, anyone can interact virtually with Sesow via his website.
