i introduced and started using the bull in my paintings in preparation for and during my first solo show in Barcelona.

Research notes
- Gallery ArteVistas marked its first anniversary with the show, which opened with a reception on March 26 and ran until May 24, 2010. Sesow had arrived about ten days earlier and told the paper he planned some 75 new paintings, in warmer colors than usual, drawing on Toulouse-Lautrec’s posters and the architecture of Albi alongside his dogs, birds and bulls.

La galerie Artevistas fête ce soir à partir de 18 h son premier anniversaire. À cette occasion, Marine de Youngmeister,
la gérante, a souhaité marquer les esprits. Elle accueille, depuis une dizaine de jours déjà, une pointure internationale
de l'art brut, Matt Sesow.
Peintre américain, il est arrivé dans la cité pour sa première exposition en France qui se prolongera jusqu'au 24 mai.
Puisant son inspiration dans les rues de la ville, il travaille depuis son arrivée sur une collection spéciale d'œuvres qui
marqueront son passage dans le Tarn. « Je pense en peindre au total 75, de toutes tailles », confie-t-il. « Je travaille avec
des couleurs plus chaleureuses que d'habitude, tout en gardant ma touche personnelle », explique l'artiste. S'inspirant
tour à tour des affiches de Toulouse-Lautrec ou de l'architecture, il reste néanmoins attaché aux célèbres chiens,
oiseaux et taureaux qui ont fait sa renommée. Marine de Youngmeister ne pouvait pas rêver mieux pour le premier
anniversaire de la galerie. « Il est très connu. Cependant, nous sommes vraiment dans l'esprit d'Artevistas : mettre l'art
à portée de tous ».
