In their words
This is probably the hardest show I’ve ever prepared for. I wanted it to be right. I’m really honored to be here.

If you were there for the talk, you know that it was an overwhelming experience for me. If you couldn't make the opening, the show will be up for one year until June 2017. I plan to be back at the museum on July 23rd/Saturday to talk with visitors, etc...Hope to see you there! I'll post details in the future. thanks! Matt

Research notes
- The museum announced the run as May 27, 2016 – May 28, 2017; BmoreArt (June 2016) gave the closing as June 4, 2017, the date this chronicle uses.
- AVAM’s page calls it “the first exclusive showing of Sesow’s work at AVAM,” curated by Rebecca Alban Hoffberger: 150-plus works including his salute to the first 100 American soldiers killed in the Iraq War and an illustrated “Key” to his icons.
- BmoreArt describes the arm as severed above the elbow. The documented record: his left arm was reattached and his dominant left hand was later amputated.
