The story so far. In 1975 Alice Neel painted The De Vegh Twins. In 2016 Matt answered it with Identical Twins, which he gave to the American Visionary Art Museum in Baltimore. In July 2026 Suzanne de Vegh, one of Neel's twins and now executive director of the New Bedford Art Museum, found his painting in AVAM's catalogue, wrote to him (“got chills”) and asked to borrow it. On October 10, 2026 she visited Matt and Dana Ellyn in the studio. On November 5 the painting goes on view in New Bedford, in Intuitive: A Survey of Visionary Art, and Matt gives the ArtTALK that night.
